The first match of the Dubai Challenge Cup saw Khalid Alomran score the first goal of the game for AM-Ankora and Hesketh Polo remained goal-shy until the end of the second chukker. Tomas Palacios Bacque placed Hesketh on the scoreboard with a penalty shot but Pablo Urquiza's back to back goals ensured that AM - Polo was at the lead by 3.5 goals by the end of the third chukker. Hesketh Polo delivered 3 goals during the last chukker but the half goal advantage of AM - Ankora was enough to secure the win at 4.5 goals to 4.

The second half of the afternoon opened with a goal shot from Federico von Potobsky for Bangash Polo followed by consecutive goals from the team's patron, Haider Bangash and Rashid Al Abbar. Clara Cassino nicked the first goal for UAE Polo and the team narrowed the gap in scores by the end of the third chukker. Bangash Polo regained its advantage during the fourth chukker and won the game at 5 goals to 2.5.
